From the very beginning, imperial territory.

Undivided ownership of the " Lichtenberg " from the 15th century until the beginning of the 18th century when the village passed to  the " Flachslanden " from 1726 till 1789.

The villagers had the rare privilege to be able to choose their own lord.

Old Alsatian houses, among which that of the " Loejelguecker " dating from the 16th century, of Renaissance style.

The Lutheran church with its Romanic bell tower dating from the 12th and 13th centuries, the Gothic nave and the choir of the 13th and 14th centuries.

The Roman Catholic Church dates from the 20th century.

Altitude 200 m. 500 inhabitants.

Located on the banks of the river Westerbach, in the middle of the sub-vosgean hills.

Vineyard : Route des Vins d'Alsace, wine-producing cooperative " King Dagobert ".

Orchards, mixed farming.

Local fair October 24th or the following Sunday.
