The famous " Confrérie Saint-Etienne ", which headquarter is Kientzheim's magnificent castle, distinguishes once the year, and affixes its " Sigille " , a special label of quality, on the worthiest wines.

In order to obtain this distinction, a wine must conform to very sever standards of quality and typicity. Only wines produced by members of the Brotherhood can be submitted for tasting. It works notably, at the time of its great solemn chapters, with the brillance of the wines of Alsace and their incomparable magic. .

The castle also shelters the " Museum of the Vineyard and of the Wines of Alsace ", which allows to discover, through an exceptional collection of objects and tools, the art and the history of wines of Alsace.

The strict regulation going back to 1561, still applies to all the members of this famous Brotherhood.
